Why Los Altos Hills Homeowners Should Schedule Before October Rains
Santa Clara’s fall weather turns chilly fast, and that means fireplaces get their first serious test of the year. But October is also when demand for chimney sweeps spikes, homeowners wait until the last minute, then face delays or higher costs. We’re already seeing longer wait times in neighborhoods like Cupertino and Sunnyvale, so if you’re planning to light up your fireplace before Thanksgiving, now’s the time to act. A professional sweep isn’t just about safety; it’s also the best way to catch small issues before they turn into expensive repairs. Learn more about chimney maintenance costs to budget ahead.
What Happens When Your Mountain View Chimney Sweep Team Arrives
When you book with Rocky Chimney, your technician will start with a visual inspection of your chimney, liner, and damper, looking for cracks, rust, or creosote buildup that could signal bigger problems. We use brushes and vacuums to remove soot and debris, then check for proper draft and ventilation. If your system is older or you’ve noticed smoke backing up, we’ll recommend next steps, like a chimney liner repair or cap installation. See our seasonal prep checklist to know what to do before we arrive. And if you’re also due for dryer vent cleaning, lint buildup is a fire hazard, we can handle that too.
